英语写作的考查目的是什么?理应了解考查中国学生的英语作文，其目的并不完全是看考生把题目论述得如何好，是否把提示的内容都表达出来(当然这也是一个方面)，更重要的是考查学生的英语语言能力，即英语表达能力。因此，在英语写作考试中，不仅仅是把内容写出来就可以了，而应更多地考虑怎么把自己的语言水平表现出来。许多考生没有意识到这一点，往往是想到什么词就写什么词，没有停下来稍微思考一下：还有没有更好、更贴切的词，还有没有更生动、更有力的句子结构。应当看到，我们的阅卷人员几乎都是中国教师，而非外国人，他们更重视语言，也就是说，是精彩的遣词造句使文章赢得阅卷人的好感而得到高分，而不是由于论述得如何出色而帮助得分。在内容基本雷同、语言普遍平淡的作文中，出现一篇用词、用句都不同寻常的文章，会使阅卷人眼前一亮，高分作文往往就是这样产生的。因此，掌握最具有得分点的闪光句型和经典词语，迅速摆脱语言的障碍，是在短时间内迅速提高英语语言表达能力的捷径。
一、开头段的闪光句型
开头段一定要语言精炼，并且直接切入主题。开头段一般不对主题进行深入的探讨，具体的论证或叙述应该在扩展段进行。开头段的作用为：概括陈述主题，提出观点或论点，表明写作意图。
